Artificial intelligence (AI) is arguably one of the historically most impactful technologies for business, the economy and society. Much has been written now about its potential and actual benefits and risks. My work has been to show how a Māori lens, how our traditional knowledge has a lot to offer in the complexities, concerns and questions that digital technology is raising, such as how do we HARNESS the power of AI for good, how do we make responsible AI? In an effort to find solutions to some of the questions, concerns and negative impacts of AI, I realised it lies in the AI life cycle and have developed an alternative way to look at the AI LifeCycle.
